Robert Half Purchasing Agent in Chelmsford, Massachusetts

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Purchasing Agent in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. The role involves handling customer interactions, processing orders, and assisting with inventory management, among other responsibilities. This job will be within the industry of supply chain and logistics and will require extensive use of enterprise resource planning and accounting software systems.

Responsibilities:

• Handle the efficient processing of buy & resell orders from the inside sales team.

• Monitor and update orders in the ERP system, ensuring all stakeholders are kept informed of the status.

• Assist with the yearly inventory process and provide warehouse coverage when necessary.

• Provide general administrative and clerical support, including answering inbound calls promptly and directing them appropriately.

• Perform triage on calls to assess urgency and direct the call accordingly.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the company and employees to expedite call handling.

• Review invoices for Aftermarket purchase orders for buy & resell orders and process them through the accounting software system.

• Welcome and direct visitors entering the building.

• Respect confidentiality and handle calls and information received with discretion.

• Perform other light office duties as required. Requirements • Proficient in Accounting Software Systems

• Expertise in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Understanding and execution of Accounting Functions

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP)

• Familiarity with Budget Processes

• Knowledge of Buying Processes

• Strong Customer Service skills

• Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)

• Ability to handle Answering Inbound Calls

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Attention to detail and accuracy in work

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
