How will you make an impact?
Within the Quality organization of the Bedford, MA facility, we are seeking a skilled Quality Control Scientist I who will be motivated by this exciting opportunity for a technically minded Laboratory Professional looking to develop as an individual contributor who supports QC with FPLC/HPLC (and other) analyses of preparatory column resins.
You'll be a capable bench chemist with experience in solution preparation, instrumental analysis and data processing, bringing a robust scientific mind to enhance our Quality Team.
What will you do?
Supporting the Quality Organization, the QC Scientist I will:
Perform simple and complex analyses in support of lot release or laboratory investigations
Maintain detailed records of all work carried out and report results in a clear, timely and informative manner.
Maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation (FPLC, HPLC, Particle Analyzer, UV-Vis Spectrometer, FTIR Spectrometer, etc.) and troubleshoot as needed.
Develop an understanding of the products overseen by their group as well as an understanding of how customers use those products
Review laboratory operations and identify opportunities for improvements to Quality related process/procedures/documents
Review data for completeness and accuracy
Work independently and as part of a team.
How will you get here?
Education and Experience
Bachelors or equivalent degree from accredited college/university in relevant scientific discipline.
Minimum of 1 year of relevant laboratory experience.
Experience with FPLC chromatography systems and Unicorn software is desired.
Experience with Downstream Purification is a plus
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Hands-on instrument, equipment and technology experience.
Familiar with protein purification/analytics such as HPLC, FPLC, UV-Vis Spectroscopy, or other related techniques.
Knowledge of Quality standard (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA, ICH) guidelines
Familiar with SAP, Agile, E1, LIMS or other electronic data/document management systems.
Proven ability to execute project tasks with minimal supervision.
Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic environment and manage activities to meet the needs of the business while maintaining a focus on quality.
Familiar with continual process improvement practices such as Kaizen, Gemba, 3P, 5S, Standard Work and others.
Excellent inter-personal, communication and organizational skills with good attention to detail.
