State of Massachusetts Electrician I in Chelsea, Massachusetts

The Chelsea Soldiers' Home is currently seeking qualified candidates to fill an open Electrician I position. _Duties and Responsibilities_: *(These duties are a general summary and not all inclusive.) * Establishes priorities and makes work assignments * Studies production schedules and estimates man-hour requirements for completion of job assignments. * Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules through knowledge of machine and equipment capacity. * Makes cost estimates, requisitions supplies and inspects stock and materials used. * Plans wiring and installation of equipment and fixtures such as motors, generators, switches, transformers, switchboards and fuse boxes according to blueprints, schematic drawing and sketches. * Supervises, coordinates and may participate in the installation of wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus and control equipment, with the exception of elevator control equipment. * Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product; suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency. * Participates in testing and inspection of emergency generators, fire alarms and sprinkler systems. * Performs related work as required. _Preferred Qualifications_:* Experience working in a health care setting. _About the Soldiers' Home in Chelsea_: The Soldiers' Home in Chelsea is a multidimensional health care and housing facility first established in 1882.
