We're hiring for a 2nd Shift Utilities Maintenance Technician to support HVAC maintenance and operational support for our facility in the Boston area!

The Utilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance and operational support for all plant facilities and utilities equipment. This is a full-time, hourly position and is 100% site based. The schedule is Sunday – Thursday 2:00PM – 10:30PM.

The Boston-area facility is Catalent’s global Center of Excellence for spray dry dispersion and Dry Powder Inhaler (DPI) capsule manufacture and packaging. The site features inhaled powder spray drying, as well as multiple commercial-scale lines for capsule filling and blister packaging. On-site spray dryers include best-in-class GEA Niro SD1, SD4 and SD7, the latter being the largest CGMP unit of its kind for DPI in North America.

The Role

• Work both independently and collaboratively across shift assignments with minimal supervision.

• Execute daily equipment checks, water sampling and analysis, and emergency response procedures as needed.

• Follow all established EHS standards, safe work practices, and quality requirements including Lockout/Tagout and permits.

• Use schematics, diagrams, and drawings for diagnostics, trouble shooting, and repair of plumbing, electrical, control systems, VFDs, programming logic, etc.

• Operate and maintain utility systems and related equipment such as water softeners, de-alkalizer, boilers, steam and condensate systems, air compressors, fire suppression systems, HVAC, emergency generators, purified water storage and distribution, reverse osmosis, and pure steam generators.

• Drive continuous improvement for items such as infrastructure, procedures, routine maintenance tasks, spare parts inventory, etc.

• Document all start-up, shutdown, repair, and return-to-service activities in accordance with SOPs and GDP procedures. Capture data using logbooks, check sheets, work orders, and CMMS systems.

• Maintain compliance to established metrics, standards, and training requirements.

• All other duties as assigned.

The Candidate

• Minimum of a High school diploma required; Associate degree or technical degree strongly preferred.

• 1+ years of experience in Industrial Plant Maintenance strongly preferred.

• Experience with HVAC repair and troubleshooting highly preferred.

• Ability to interpret electrical wiring diagrams, electronic schematics, and engineering drawings.

• Ability to read, use, navigate, operate, and troubleshoot using a Building Management System (BMS).

• Other duties as assigned.
