Job Description
This position reports to the University Risk Manager and assists in protecting the assets of the University, faculty, and staff. Primary responsibilities include identifying, analyzing, and evaluating risks and selecting appropriate risk management methods. This position interacts with University Legal Counsel, Directors and Assistant Directors, Deans and Assistant Deans, and is the primary contact with outside vendors, on contracts, claims, and Loss Prevention Programs. The Assistant Risk Manager is required to make professional judgments in accordance with University policies and procedures on Loss Prevention, Workerâs Compensation, and third-party insurance claims.
Full-Time Equivalent Hiring Range: $78,100 to $97,650; salary commensurate with relevant experience.
Requirements
Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelorâs degree ideally in insurance, risk management, or business administration. Masterâs degree in insurance, risk management, or business administration, preferred.
Experience:
At least five years of progressively responsible experience in insurance and/or risk management functions, preferably in a university or higher education sector.
