Job Description
General Service Worker
Basic Function and Responsibility
Under supervision, performs routine tasks in the preparation and serving of various foods, hot and cold. Face-to-face contact with customers requires projecting a friendly and helpful attitude toward our customers and a high awareness of customer satisfaction. Heavy lifting is necessary.
Characteristic Duties
-Participates in the proper set-up, maintenance, and clean up of work areas.
-Takes customers food orders, portions and serves food to customers with a pleasant caring manner according to established procedures.
-May assist in the preparation of vegetables, desserts, salads, sandwiches and other foods.
-Performs routine cleaning and sanitation functions as directed.
-May assist in the set-up and serving of catered events.
-Supplies and restocks food or equipment areas as necessary.
-Performs routine sanitation and safety functions of work areas and equipment.
-Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervision Received
Reports to unit managers.
Supervision Exercised
May assist in monitoring and training of student employees.
Hiring Range: $23.65/hr to $24.89/hr. Pay rate commensurate with relevant experience.
Requirements
Qualifications
Education: High School diploma preferred. Additional relevant experience may substitute for education.
Experience: Steady employment history required.
Skills: Must be able to read and write English. Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced operation with a diverse staff. Must have good interpersonal skills. Must be able to lift moderately heavy objects, up to 50 pounds, on an on-going basis.
