Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Club located at Westover Air Reserve Base, Massachusetts. The position is a flexible position, which means you are not guaranteed hours or benefits but could work anywhere between 0 and 40 hours per week. Flex employees will be eligible for the use of the fitness center, lodging, and other activities. Position requires working irregular schedules, to include weekends, holidays, and all shifts. Responsibilities As a working leader, performs the following types of duties: Provides day-to-day advice and guidance to employees for work assignments Relays instructions from the supervisor for work assignments. Gets work started and sets work pace. Demonstrates work methods and provides work-related guidance. Ensures that the work site materials and tools are available. Ensures that employees follow security, safety, and housekeeping guidelines. Operates limited service bar preparing a variety of alcoholic drinks. Serves beer, soda and wine. Receives payments. Maintains cleanliness of bar area and stocks items as necessary. Assists higher level bartender. Performs other duties as assigned. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional Conditions of Employment: Must meet the appropriate minimum age requirement for working with and/or serving alcoholic beverages. Qualifying Experience: Ability to lead three or more workers to accomplish bartender duties. Experience mixing alcoholic beverages for retail sale, which includes knowledge of a wide variety of beverages and ability to combine ingredients such as liquors, soda water, sugar, bitters, and fruit, and the ability to mix exotic drinks. Must be able to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and to resolve the problem or seek assistance if needed. Must be able to follow cash handling procedures. Must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing 5 to 15 pounds, pull and push objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift up to and over 40 pounds. Must be able to communicate clearly and possess skill in dealing with the public. Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler's training. Must be able to communicate clearly with customers, and possess skill in dealing with the public. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation or a signed memorandum indicating the installation's decision on the 3-year residency requirement.. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Direct deposit is required. Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check. A probationary period may be required. Pre-employment requirements must be satisfactorily met prior to Entrance on Duty (EOD). Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
