What Electrical Engineering Technician contributes to Cardinal Health

Engineering is responsible for performing research and analyses to develop design options for components, products, systems and processes.

Electrical Engineering Technicians are responsible for building, testing and troubleshooting electrical/electronic circuitry and other systems used in finished equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair control systems and automation equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability

• Diagnose and resolve issues with control systems, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and other automation components.

• Develop and modify PLC programs, HMI screens, and control logic to improve system performance and meet project requirements.

• Integrate new equipment and control systems into existing manufacturing processes, ensuring seamless operation and minimal disruption.

• Wire control panels according to electrical schematics and ensure proper connections and functionality

• Create and maintain accurate documentation of control system configurations, wiring diagrams, and software programs.

• Develop and execute preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of control systems and equipment.

• Work closely with engineers, maintenance technicians, and production teams to support manufacturing operations and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Provide training and technical support to staff on the operation and maintenance of control systems and automation equipment

• Ensure all control systems and equipment comply with safety standards and regulations. Implement safety protocols and procedures as necessary.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience, preferred

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred

• Associates degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology or related field preferred.

• Prior experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment preferred

• Prio experience with control system integration and automation preferred.

Anticipated hourly range: $23.70-$33.80 per hour
