FACILITIES CUSTODIAM Position Facilities Custodian Department: Facilities (City Hall Maintenance) Employment Status: Non-Exempt; Full-Time Salary: UFCW Labor, Grade 5L, Step 5, Starting at \$17.78 per hour Location: Multiple Licenses/Certifications: Class D Driver\'s License SUMMARY The City of Chicopee\'s Facilities Department is seeking a Facilities Custodian to that will be responsible for the performance of routine custodial duties within an assigned municipal building as well as the adjacent grounds in a clean, orderly, safe, and secure condition. ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE Empty trash. Clean and sanitize bathrooms. Wash, strip, and wax floors. Clean carpets as needed. Mowing the lawn, string trimming, rakes, and leaf blows. Cleaning areas outside the building. Vacuum, clean, and dust inside the building as needed. Enter and respond to work orders as needed or assigned. Small carpentry, electrical, and plumbing work with assistance. Snow removal such as snow plowing, shoveling, snow blower use, and ice melt application. Filling in at different locations as needed or assigned. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS To be minimally qualified for this position, one must meet the following criteria: High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer experience in building maintenance. Working knowledge of landscaping equipment and snow removal equipment preferred MA Class D Driver\'s License COMPENSATION, SCHEDULE, & BENEFITS The City of Chicopee provides its employees (contingent upon employment status) with a robust benefits package which includes Medical, Dental, Vision, Sick-Time, Life Insurance, Holiday Pay, Personal Time, Vacation Time, Retirement Saving Plans, a Pension Plan, Employee Discounts, and more.
