City of Chicopee Facilities (City Hall Maintenance) Facilities Technician City of Chicopee Position: Facilities Technician Department: Facilities (City Hall Maintenance) Employment Status: Non-Exempt; Full-Time Grade / Step: UFCW Laborer?s Union, Grade 07L, Step 05 Starting Salary: \$19.52 per hour Location: Multiple / Public Safety Complex Licenses/Certifications: Class D Driver?s License SUMMARY The City of Chicopee\'s ? Facilities Department is seeking a Facilities Technician. The Facilities Technician is responsible for using the highest degree of skill to ensure assigned municipal building in clean and orderly condition and tends furnace, air conditioner, and boiler to provide heat, cool air, and hot water for occupants. ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE \| Maintaining, remodeling, improving, and keeping in good repair, municipal buildings, and their equipment \| Moves items or furniture as needed. \| Respond after hours and weekends as needed. \| Perform necessary preventative maintenance on equipment. \| Enters, Manages and Responds to work orders as needed or assigned. \| Assembles Items or Furniture as needed. \| Perform work at multiple locations throughout the city as needed or assigned. \| Train staff as needed. \| Rotating On Call as needed or assigned. \| Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS To be minimally qualified for this position, one must meet the following criteria: \| High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) \| Two years of experience in building Maintenance in one or more of the following trades: electricity, carpentry, heating, plumbing, or concrete work. \| Prefer experience in building maintenance. \| Prefer experience with work order management systems. \| Knowledge of work order system is preferred. \| Experience with lawn equipment, snow removal equipment 8and floor cleaning equipment. \| MA Class D Driver?s License \| Working Vehicle. This role is classified in the UFCW Laborer?s Union as Grade 07L, Step 05, with a minimum starting pay of \$19.52 per hour, with periodic step and pay increases upon continuous completion of employment with the City of Chicopee.
