Information & Technology Systems Engineer Department: Police Employment Status: Non-Bargaining, Full-Time (40 Hours/Week) Salary: \$82,000 - \$86,500/Year Schedule: Varies Certifications/Licenses Required: Bachelor\'s Degree including intensive knowledge of the field of Information Technology, and three (3) years of experience in a responsible position, preferably in a municipal setting, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. SUMMARY The City of Chicopee\'s Police Department is hiring an Information & Technology Systems Engineer who will be responsible for designing, implementing, installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and improving technology systems used by the Police Department. This role involves ensuring the security, efficiency and reliability of IT infrastructure, including databases, networks, wireless systems, hardware and software applications that support police operations, crime analysts, investigators, case management, and data sharing. The engineer will work closely with Police Department personnel to understand their needs, assist staff in the use of information & technology systems, enhance system capabilities, and ensure that all IT solutions comply with legal and regulatory standards, including data privacy and security requirements. The engineer will ensure that Police Department systems are available 24 x 7. SEE THE CITY OF CHICOPEE WEBSITE FOR COMPLETE JOB DESCRIPTION QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor\'s Degree including intensive knowledge of the field of Information Technology, and three (3) years of experience in a responsible position, preferably in a municipal setting, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. - Required Three (3) years of experience working with enterprise level surveillance systems and related video management systems (preferably Milestone XProtect) and analytical software. Enterprise level Google Workspace management. VPN certification and/or experience. Solid working knowledge and significant experience working with the Linux operating system. Experience configuring cellular modems and IP based cameras and devices. VMWare proficiency. Experience operating within, and a working knowledge, of Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) regulations. Network troubleshooting expertise including fiber based and wireless systems. Experience supporting law enforcement and/or other criminal justice systems.
