INVENTORY COORDINATOR Position Title: Inventory Coordinator Department: DPW \| Water Employment Status: Non-Exempt; Full-Time Salary: UCFW Laborer\'s Union, Grade 9L, Step 5 - Starting at \$21.19 per hour Licenses/Certifications: MA CDL Class B, Water Distribution Grade 2 SUMMARY The City of Chicopee\'s Department of Public Works \| Water Department is hiring an Inventory Coordinator who has the primary responsibility of monitoring, ordering, and maintaining Water Department equipment and parts inventory, as well as assisting with the testing of meters. ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE - Monitors equipment and parts inventory for the Water Department and keeps accurate records of current inventory - Orders all supplies, including office supplies, incidental, and tools for the Water Department - Maintains adequate supplies of equipment and parts to complete repairs and maintenance promptly - Ensures compliance with State procurement and public bidding laws - Delivers materials needed for repairs and/or installations to work sites - May be required to assist with repairs when necessary - Must be available for emergency work in the event of a water main failure, not only during normal working hours but also available evenings, weekends, and holidays - Must be available to assist with snow removal operations, not only during normal hours but also on evenings, weekends, and holidays - Supervises Water Department staff assigned to them to complete tasks necessary - Other duties as assigned per the full job description QUALIFICATIONS To be minimally qualified for this position, one must meet the following criteria: - High School Diploma or Equivalent; or 1 year of related experience - Must possess Massachusetts Class B CDL Driver\'s License - Must possess Massachusetts Water Distribution License Grade 2 - Knowledge of and experience in performing a variety of semi-skilled maintenance and manual tasks - Ability to follow oral and written instructions, and willingness to perform heavy manual labor COMPENSATION, SCHEDULE, & BENEFITS The City of Chicopee provides its employees (contingent upon employment status) with a robust benefits package which includes: Medical, Dental, Vision, Sick-Time, Life Insurance, 12+ Paid Holidays, Personal Time, Vacation Time, Retirement Saving Plans (457b), a Pension Plan, Employee Discounts, and more.
