Machinist - This position is in East Windsor, CT Reference - EPR007895 Posting Reference - IND2 Location - East Windsor, CT, USA Type - Full Time Job Category - Workshop Manual Machinist - Lathe required for either 1st or 2nd Shift. Primarily responsible for set up and operation of machine shop equipment making tools and fixtures (i.e. CNC, lathes, mills, EDM, etc.). Qualified applicants must be a team player with ability to work in shop environment. Candidates must be US citizens with ability to pass lab-based drug screen as per FAA regulations. Job Responsibilities Perform quality work on conventional operated milling machines, lathes, and surface grinding machines Use of Measuring and Test Equipment to ensure all dimensional requirements are met Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines Work from and follow blueprints, diagrams, & written process instructions Work with engineers, production personnel, and others to resolve issues Inspect and document machinery for any needed repairs Make minor repairs on machinery as needed Any other duties as required by the Company Required Skills / Knowledge Knowledge of Company?s Policies & Procedures including HS&E policy with ability to interpret safety warnings Good with computer software (MS Office, Word, Excel and internet navigation) Working knowledge of machine shop equipment (CNC machines, lathes, mills EDM, etc.) Machine shop theory, shop mathematics and layout techniques Excellent oral and written communication (English) as per FAA regulations Use of dimensional measuring equipment Demonstrated ability to set up, program and operate machine shop equipment (CNC machines, lathes, mills, EDM, etc.) Must be able to machine and measure to close tolerances (.0002?) as required Read complex blueprint specifications, charts, and follow work orders and engineering instructions as necessary Comprehend and apply engineering drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5 Problem solve and troubleshoot repair/overhaul problems Ability to work under limited supervision Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet company deadlines Experience 2 - 4 years? experience in manual machining on lathes Education Requirements College or vocational high school education in machining and machining practices High School Diploma or equivalent Certificate of completion of college or high school machining courses. Physical Requirements Professional appearance and demeanor Good dexterity (grip, grasp, clutch) Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
