We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Sr. Cost Accountant in Concord, Massachusetts. The role involves a significant focus on cost accounting, inventory accounting, and standard costing. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of duties, including analyzing raw materials, labor and production costs, and carrying out ad-hoc reporting tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Analyzing raw materials to determine costs and areas of cost reduction

• Calculating labor and production costs and preparing cost reports for management

• Reporting directly to the Plant Controller, providing necessary accounting support

• Implementing and maintaining standard costing procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting

• Managing inventory accounting and ensuring accuracy of inventory records

• Carrying out ad-hoc reporting tasks as required by management

• Utilizing skills in Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Standard Costing to perform job duties efficiently and effectively.

Requirements • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role as a Sr. Cost Accountant

• Demonstrable expertise in Cost Accounting

• Proficiency in Inventory Accounting

• Extensive knowledge and experience in Standard Costing

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines

• Professional certification such as Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) would be a plus
