Job Summary
The job of a groundsman is maintaining the condition and appearance of the property lawns, grounds, and parking lots.
Laying out and marking parking spots, Cleaning up property by clearing debris/trash bins and provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, pathways, & parking lots, Cleaning and painting benches, poles, and signs, Inspecting grounds for safety hazards and performing necessary repairs, Operating and maintaining groundskeeping equipment, Applying fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides as needed, maintaining outdoor seating and signage, Shoveling & maintaing walkways clean during snow storms.
Responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS:
Typically requires a high school diploma and 0 to 2 years of experience.
Good knowledge about machinery and equipments used in groundskeeper job
Ability to spot problems and diseases in plants and take up preventive measures
Must be strong and healthy since the work is of a physical nature and involves lifting weights and working in sun and cold
A good knowledge about gardening methods and foliage
Must be able to spend long hours outdoors
Performs work under direct supervision.
Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.

Con excelente condición física ya que el trabajo es físico y conlleva levantar artículos pesados y trabajar bajo el sol y a la intemperie.
Buen conocimiento de métodos de jardinería y follaje.
Debe ser capaz de pasar varias horas en exteriores.
Debe realizar trabajo bajo supervisión directa.
Debe manejar y atender problemas y fallas básicas además de referir asuntos más complejos al personal de mayor jerarquía.
Debe contar con conocimientos teóricos y prácticos sobre el tema.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Trimming plants and maintaining high aesthetic appeal of the outdoor space
With outdoor seating spaces ensure the furniture is kept clean and polished
Uses various hand tools and gas-powered tools to mow and maintain grass rake leaves trim bushes and trees plant flowers and shrubbery remove dead plants water and fertilize vegetation and get grounds ready for seasonal changes.
Maintains driveways walkways and parking lots by cleaning & removing snow and ice.
Ensures tools are maintained properly.
Tending to the plants trees shrubs and ensuring their health
May complete other general landscaping tasks for surrounding grounds such as planting scrubs flowers and laying mulch.
Keeping the lawns and grass well manicured
Applies herbicides and sets up irrigation equipment as needed.
Uses machinery to dig ditches in efforts to control runoff and prevent flooding.
Repairs and maintains grounds equipment.

Podrá realizar otras tareas generales de paisajismo en las áreas circundantes como plantar matorrales flores y colocar acolchados.
Podar el césped y el pasto.
Dar el cuidado y el mantenimiento necesarios a los campos de golf arreglar chuletas y marcas de pelotas además de mantener el pasto con la altura correcta en las calles los greens de golf y las áreas ásperas. Usar equipamiento pesado como podadoras excavadoras compactas y fertilizadoras.
Aplicar herbicidas e instalar y programar el sistema de irrigación según sea necesario.
Usar maquinaría para excavar zanjas para control de inundaciones y escorrentías.
Delimitar áreas en las que los golfistas no pueden conducir los carritos o caminar durante los partidos. Reparar y dar mantenimiento al equipamiento de uso en exteriores.
