Job Title: Anatomic Pathologist

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide medical insight to the development of design specifications; medical expertise to regulatory submissions; participation in meetings with regulators (e.g. FDA); review of marketing and promotional materials.

  • Support the growth of company's Pharmaceutical Partnerships business through cultivation of peer-to-peer relationships within pharmaceutical companies.

  • Play an integral role in building company's brand as a thought leader; actively participate in planning and provision of training for external medical/scientific speakers and members of product sales teams.

  • Actively participate in review of cases and results as part of product development and assay validation.

Position Requirements

  • A deep understanding of/experience with laboratory medicine and anatomic pathology. Must have M.D. degree with American Board of Medical Specialties certification in an appropriate specialty (anatomic and clinical pathology, preferred).

  • Molecular tissue pathology experience is required.

  • Experience in risk management/safety assessments in the medical devices industry is desirable.

  • Successful experience in advocating and advancing in vitro diagnostic products

  • Team player with executive presence and demeanor coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Professional maturity and confidence in expressing a point of view with senior management and external partners (eg Pharma partners).

Education - List of Education, Certifications, Training

MD degree with 5+ years of experience post-training, preferably with at least 2 years in the Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industry or within a clinical reference laboratory, or Academia.

Academic and research experience is highly desirable, along with a track record of publications in relevant areas

Prefer board certification in anatomic and/or clinical pathology, with subspecialty certification in molecular pathology, hematopathology or breast pathology
