Key Responsibilities
Function as an Automation Hardware Engineer and support the operation of all GMP and non-GMP control systems, and other auxiliary equipment at the Devens Biologics and Cell Therapy Facilities.-
Participate in cross functional teams to solve operational issues and develop lasting countermeasures.
Participate as an individual contributor on larger Process Automation System projects, or projects with a significant automation component.
Provide troubleshooting and guidance support to automation systems team, in support of Manufacturing.
Provide on-call support for PAS, BAS & other control systems along with other team members.
Work with all departments and with all levels of the organization, specifically Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, and Manufacturing Operations.
Exercise sound judgement in making decisions and recommendations with generally defined practices and policies and notify management when necessary.
Qualifications & Experience
Working knowledge of the creating, control and markup of engineering documentation such as P&IDs, Loop Diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
Ability to troubleshoot Process Automation & Control systems from the field element up through operator interfaces.
Explains own work clearly and confidently.
Requires significant knowledge of the principles and concepts of a discipline typically gained through a university degree and 5-7 years of experience or HS diploma/technical school and relevant certifications plus 8-10 years of experience.
Works predominately within established procedures. Actively participates in troubleshooting of routine problems. Makes decisions that impact own work and other groups/teams. Works under minimal supervision.
