Position Summary

The Senior Manager MRO and Service Contracts is responsible for providing leadership and oversight to the third-party service provider managing the Maintenance Repair Operations (MRO) Stockroom at the Devens site, as well as the Contract Specialists responsible for developing, managing, and modifying all maintenance service contracts supporting the 24/7 manufacturing operations at the Devens site. The Senior Manager is a critical role within the Asset Management Team reporting directly to the Associate Director Asset Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion Safety and Quality for the MRO areas and the MRO and Contracts Teams.

  • Partner with Site Engineering, Manufacturing, and Procurement to develop maintenance service contracts for equipment and systems.

  • Perform regular reviews of service contractor performance against contract deliverables.

  • Establish and monitor KPI’s to evaluate and trend the performance of service vendors.

  • Establish periodic reviews of service contracts with end users and maintenance teams to verify contract scope and deliverables.

  • Establish an escalation process for contract issue/resolution.

  • Collaborate with service contractors, end users, and site maintenance to develop and establish strategies that improve preventive maintenance contracts.

  • Manage assigned budget and recommend changes as needed.

  • Mentor and coach employees to improve performance and support growth/development.

  • Establish and manage 5S program for the MRO areas. Perform regular GEMBA’s of the MRO areas to sustain 5S program.

  • Participate on the Site Engineering Safety Committee.

Provide leadership and direction to the MRO Stockroom third-party service provider to ensure:

  • Work activities are performed in accordance with site Standard Operating Procedures and all BMS and Devens Site EHS and Quality polices.

  • CMMS (Maximo) workflows for bill of material, parts management, cycle counting, kitting, and shutdown planning are current and adequate to support organizational requirements.

  • Minimum and maximum reorder points are set to prevent stockouts.

  • Appropriate Key Performance Indicators are established, monitored, and discussed on a regular basis. Drive actions necessary to correct and/or mitigate adverse conditions/trends.

  • Strategies are in place to continuously monitor and improve MRO performance and overall effectiveness.

  • Training curriculums for employees are established and reviewed.

  • Internal MRO audits are conducted and documented with findings shared with Site Engineering Leadership.

  • Performance Review (KPI’s) meetings are held with Site Engineering Leadership monthly.

  • Strategies and project plans for future growth of the MRO areas are evaluated and communicated to Site Engineering Leadership.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience managing an MRO Stockroom for a large facility or campus.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a GMP regulated facility. Preferably pharmaceutical or biotechnology.

  • Experience developing and negotiating service contracts.

  • Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

  • Experience with maintenance planning and scheduling programs.

  • Experience with contract management and contractor safety programs.

  • Excellent people management skills with a focus on coaching and mentoring.

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Proficient in creating presentations to senior leaders.

  • Excellent financial acumen. Experience managing an operational budget.

  • Proven history of establishing a Safety culture.
