How will you make an impact?As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you will play a key role in ensuring the accurate recording, movement, and storage of materials within and out of the site. Your responsibilities will support the smooth flow of goods, including receiving, storing, and shipping, while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Your contributions will help maintain the efficiency and accuracy of warehouse operations.

What will you do?

  • Material Handling: Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed, or shipped.

  • Shipping and Receiving Assistance: Assist with unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, and moving materials from receiving or storage areas to designated areas.

  • Organization: Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or bins according to a predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.

  • Labeling: Mark materials with identifying information using the appropriate methods and open bales, crates, and other containers as needed.

  • Inventory Control: Weigh or count items for distribution within the plant to ensure they conform to company standards.

  • Parcel Preparation: Prepare parcels for mailing and ensure proper packaging.

  • Work Area Maintenance: Keep the warehouse and work area clean by sweeping, dusting, and mopping.

  • Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

How will you get here?

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

  • Prior experience in a warehouse environment is preferred.

  • Experience in shipping and receiving is advantageous.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Proficiency in operating a personal computer, including Windows-based operating systems and related software.

  • Advanced PC skills, including experience with software packages, are preferred.

  • Ability to read and understand visual aids and write simple correspondence.

  • Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and interpret graphs.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to follow simple one- or two-step instructions and handle standardized situations with minimal variables.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in warehouse operations.

  • Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes.

  • Experience with inventory management systems or related software.
