Avantor, Inc. Sr Analyst of Master Data in Devens, Massachusetts

Job SummaryThe Sr Analyst of Master Data is responsible for all activities regarding ERP Master Data across all Avantor Fluid Handling (AFH) sites and business functions. Responsibilities also include supply chain analytics, project coordination, and management.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)

  • Design and Implement a comprehensive master data governance program to supports all aspects of the AFH single use business.

  • Responsible for managing the master data tools including the strategy around improvements and changes to drive performance.

  • Responsible for developing and delivering the strategy and roadmap to standardize the information that Avantor Fluid Handling uses as part of the foundation that supports all transactional and analytical capabilities for AFH.

  • Identifies areas for improvement in all areas of master data; works with business leaders and IT department to implement changes to improve data quality and efficiency of processes.

  • Responsible for designing and implementing master data quality initiatives and audits, while holding the team accountable for data quality.

  • Sets long-term goals and drives for completion of goals for all master data initiatives. This includes documentation and maintenance of all master data processes.

  • Responsible for documenting and keeping current data definitions, processes and ownership for all master data.

  • Product maintenance – works with other functional teams on the discontinuation and attribute changes of products, including, but not limited to, description changes, warehouse ties, and internal coding.

  • Assists in additional supply chain analytics initiatives to provide key data to support AFH’s supply chain.

  • Manages via matrix, master data teams located in other parts of the world, in coordination with on-site management staff.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)

  • 4-year college degree, preferable in science or supply chain discipline

  • 3+ years of supply chain work experience, in roles of increasing responsibility

  • 8+ years of applicable business experience

  • Experience working with large data sets, data modeling, and advanced analytical techniques

  • Experience in managing a team of personnel in an operational environment

  • Experience in project management a plus

  • Experience in make to order manufacturing and distribution environment preferred

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)

  • Results oriented and works with a sense of urgency. Assertive, responsible for his/her own work and has a strong affinity for defining work in deliverables and is willing to commit to deadlines.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with track record of developing creative solutions and meeting objectives.

  • Must be Customer focused, enthusiastic, and demonstrate adaptability working both on own and as a team player.

  • Advanced knowledge of production planning, purchasing, distribution, and LEAN manufacturing processes

  • Advanced Excel, Access, SAP, and SQL skills; Experience with ERP Systems preferred

  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written

  • Proven facilitation skills across multiple business disciplines and organizational levels

  • Must be results driven, self-sufficient, highly motivated and comfortable with ambiguity

  • Demonstrates resilience and able to effectively communicate complicated problems and solutions.

  • Must be able to work effectively with all levels of the organization

  • Must be able to develop excel reports as well as PowerPoint presentations

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions)

Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.

While examining the processes at a warehouse, associate could be exposed to an industrial environment; i.e. the associate may work near loud moving mechanical machinery and maybe exposed to dust, fumes, or gases.

Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.

A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis.

Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.
