Description

The IT Infrastructure Resiliency and Chief of Staff Support, Sr. Associate will lead the planning implementing of the IT Infrastructure IT DR function, partnering with key stakeholders including Information Security, Risk Management and Business Units. Responsibilities include:

  • Program Management

  • Engage directly with the Business Continuity function, IT Operations, Technology Architecture, IT Engineering Systems and Application Program Management. Participate in appropriate business unit and development planning meetings and activities.

  • Develop and implement a functional Disaster Recovery program, including associated Disaster Recovery policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines for IT Infrastructure.

  • Drive compliance with corporate IT DR and Business Continuity standards.

  • Assist the department in enhancing, formalizing, and standardizing the business planning process, including forecasting and tracking mechanisms, across all business units, to facilitate timely accommodation of future company recovery requirements and opportunities.

  • Perform all departmental administrative activities, including staff meetings, monthly status reporting, budgeting, strategic planning, expense processing, documentation, and other activities

  • DR Planning & Testing

  • Engage in and manage IT Infrastructure’s role in a multi-year cyber resiliency initiative to implement enhanced solutions to protect the bank’s assets from a cyber attack

  • Coordinate with IT and the business unit to identify the critical processes and systems that are core to the company’s continued business operation and work to validate and identify application dependencies.

  • Drive the development, coordination and maintenance of comprehensive data center recovery plans and a testing program, to ensure the ability to recover in the event of an unforeseen disruption to facilities, technology systems, or applications.

  • Plan and execute disaster recovery testing to ensure the security and integrity of critical business processes.

  • Facilitate timely identification, escalation, resolution, and follow-up for all outstanding issues including those identified that impact testing and actual incidents

  • DR Governance

  • Ensure effective governance and remediation of deviations from plans and issues where identified, with extensive governance over a Disaster Recovery Testing and Assurance program.

  • Perform periodic audits of existing Disaster Recovery Plans and recommend improvements to management; facilitate and oversee implementation of recommended improvements.

  • Responsible for vendor management of service providers who help with sustaining and improving the organization's disaster recovery capabilities.

  • Work with third-party systems and suppliers to ensure access to data, and switch to alternatives if necessary

  • Drive and facilitate timely responses to internal and external audit requests.

  • Incident Management

  • Participate in coordinating response and recovery activities; draft, coordinate and participate as appropriate in communications in the event of a major incident.

  • Training & Awareness.

  • Create and provide training on Disaster Recovery procedures to business unit and employees in partnership with the Business Continuity Management Team

Support the IT Infrastructure Chief of Staff and team in the following capacity:

  • Assist in defining and communicating strategic priorities; helping to identify areas where the team must direct their focus and identifying metrics for success, including monitoring regularly and evaluating progress to goals.

  • Develop clear understanding of Santander’s overall strategies and key priorities to ensure that the team’s strategic priorities align, integrate and support.

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner, in a confidential capacity, providing high-level support associated with complex problems, current and future initiatives, strategies, and budgets.

  • Develop and execute analytical and tactical strategies to ensure business projects and milestones are completed in a highly effective and timely manner.

  • Demonstrate collaborative leadership and influence necessary to ensure alignment among key stakeholders and smooth execution of project deliverables.

  • Ensure organizational alignment and seamless execution for projects

  • Provide ongoing tracking and management of issues and risks related to implementation of the team’s initiatives and strategies with meaningful metrics and summary reports. Manage strong relationship with team members, Finance, Controllership, and other IT organizations in support of the team’s goals and objectives.

  • Plan and coordinate leadership and staff meetings based upon strategic priorities.

  • Collaborate with team to Identify and drive continuous enhancement for design and deployment of internal and external reporting to support improved clarity, structure, and content of the Chief of Staff’s areas of responsibility.

  • Build and maintain mutually supportive relationships with all levels of management, staff, outside agencies and vendors, when necessary. Work to remove barriers that hamper inter- and intra-department communications. Coordinate and monitor assignments which must be accomplished in conjunction with other executives and teams.

  • Support and engage in the Chief of Staff’s close partnership with the HR lead on matters related to organizational design, structure and personnel issues, as appropriate

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent work experience in related IT field is required

  • 10+ years of relevant business experience required.

  • 5+ years of a combination of Disaster Recovery experience or the equivalent

  • 5+ years of project management, operations and leadership experience

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to convey plans, exercises, and activities. Must be able to interact with technical, non-technical, and management staff

  • Familiarity with business continuity program life cycle plans and source deliverables (e.g., risk assessments, Business Impact Analysis (BIAs), continuity planning) is essential

  • Business Intelligence, analytics and reporting expertise

  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure operations and familiarity with disaster recovery operations

  • Energetic, smart, and hands-on self-starter with a desire to learn new things quickly. Proven ability to refine and improve the organization’s capabilities. Demonstrated track record to effectively handle key organizational matters. Must be able to exhibit diplomacy with all constituents and represent the changing face of the organization both internally and externally. Demonstrated track record to proactively identify, assess, and analyze scenarios that may affect operations, and a proven history of taking an institutional perspective.

  • Ability to collaborate with other IT staff at all levels of responsibility

  • Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills with a style that encourages open expressions of ideas, opinions, and a full discussion of differing points of view. Sound judgment and independent initiative.

  • Ability to communicate technology into business terms with customers at all levels

  • Ability to influence without authority

  • Makes contributions to the team and is accountable for actions and role responsibilities

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Skype for Business)
