The Stores Clerk is responsible for assisting to ensure that items that are requested are received and stocked appropriately, and in a timely manner.
Picks up daily medical/surgical orders from Receiving and delivers to the appropriate floors, upon assignment. Items are placed on their appointed shelves. Items needing to be re-ordered (brought to per) are rescanned using a handheld device. The scanned orders are then brought to the Purchasing Office for transmittal to the distributor.
Prioritizes and assembles orders that are generated pick lists (stock order requisitions) or paper requests.
Delivers supplies to areas that requisition them.
Consolidates off-site supplies and makes available for either General Services or Patient Escort personnel.
Unloads supply orders from pallets and stocks on shelves.
Cleans the Department (Storeroom) daily. Empty boxes and pallets are disregards, when necessary.
Automated Data Entry System
Generates specific requisitions printouts to process data in a timely manner.
Maintains and/or modifies specific requisitions to assist in rapid dispersing of supplies.
Verifies supply pars and needs of nursing units and departments.
Enters requests into the computer system (using Meditech’s Department Issue function.)
Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.

Communicates effectively with internal and external customers with respect of differences in cultures, values, beliefs and ages, utilizing interpreters when needed.
Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Customer service skills with co-workers, vendors, patients, vistors, etc.
Prioritize projects to complete tasks in the most efficient method.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience (Type & Length): Minimum of one year
Software/Hardware: Computer experience (Meditech Materials Management); JIT inventory system
