At Communications Construction Group as a Lead Mechan ic you will to oversee the maintenance and repair of our fleet. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing invoices, setting up repairs, and hands-on mechanic work. This role requires strong organizational skills, technical expertise, and the ability to lead a team.

    What you’ll do as a Lead Mechanic

  • Schedule and coordinate routine maintenance and repairs for all fleet vehicles and equipment in the New England region.

  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of the fleet.

  • Set up and manage repair appointments with internal mechanics or external vendors.

  • Ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks, prioritizing urgent needs to keep the fleet operational.

  • Review and verify invoices from vendors and suppliers for accuracy and completeness.

  • Perform hands-on mechanic work, including diagnostics, mobile repairs, and maintenance tasks as needed.

  • Assist in complex repairs and provide technical expertise to the team.

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of parts and supplies.

  • Order necessary parts and equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness and availability.

  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.

IND1

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certifications preferred.

  • Proven experience as a mechanic, with a minimum of 5 years in a maintenance or repair role.

  • Strong knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance procedures.

  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and maintenance software.

  • Ability to review and process invoices accurately.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
