What you’ll do as a Lead Mechanic
Schedule and coordinate routine maintenance and repairs for all fleet vehicles and equipment in the New England region.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of the fleet.
Set up and manage repair appointments with internal mechanics or external vendors.
Ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks, prioritizing urgent needs to keep the fleet operational.
Review and verify invoices from vendors and suppliers for accuracy and completeness.
Perform hands-on mechanic work, including diagnostics, mobile repairs, and maintenance tasks as needed.
Assist in complex repairs and provide technical expertise to the team.
Monitor and manage inventory levels of parts and supplies.
Order necessary parts and equipment, ensuring cost-effectiveness and availability.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
IND1
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certifications preferred.
Proven experience as a mechanic, with a minimum of 5 years in a maintenance or repair role.
Strong knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance procedures.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and maintenance software.
Ability to review and process invoices accurately.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
