Cartamundi Finance Director in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts

The Finance Director will be responsible for the management of the month-end close, presentation of the monthly financials, preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts for the East Longmeadow manufacturing facility. Reporting into the VP of Finance for Board and Card Games, the successful candidate will look to drive business improvements while leading a team of 2 and ensuring the timely and efficient processing of all financial activities.

What you’ll do as a Finance Director:

Accounting, Reporting and Audit:

  • Monitor, analyze and understand actual results versus forecasted budget

  • Prepare and report out on Site financial results to internal and external stakeholders, shareholders, and financial institutions in formal meetings

  • Oversee and report out on customer margin analysis of quotes versus actual result per job

  • Understand and remain current with financial regulations and legislation, ensuring strict adherence and integrity in financial reporting

  • Strong focus on improving the complete reporting structure, the budget and controlling cycles and the internal analysis and procedures

  • Drive the month-end close process, insuring the integrity of the results while creating an efficient, repeatable process

  • Reporting and analysis of the monthly results

  • Manage internal and external audits of financial systems and practices to ensure strict adherence to compliance

  • Continually elevate the measurement system used to identify process improvements that enhance the capability for data analysis and change that are the highest priority and deliver the most ROI

  • Work collaboratively with teams to identify and analyze gaps between current and desired state

  • Develop and maintain effective global, regional and local relationships with internal and external business partners

  • Be sensitive for developing expertise in different financial and administrative domains and transfer of knowledge

  • Liaise with outside services for tax preparation, auditing, and other financial needs, as necessary

  • Propose and discuss the financial strategy and objectives with the Executive Team in order to create alignment

  • Manage and assess business risk by analyzing financial, statistical and economic data to recommend the best course of action to the organization

  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting process on time to organizational needs and schedule

  • Manage the budget of the department to ensure results are in line with the strategy of the financial plan

Supervisory, Management:

  • Provide exemplary leadership of a team of finance professionals in daily activity of reporting and analytics, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting for cost analysis, debtors and other transactions in accordance with tax law, policies and practices

  • Develop and monitor team goals and objectives, creating an atmosphere of accountability and success so goals and objectives are achieved or exceeded in alignment with corporate objectives with a focus on collaboration and team dynamics

  • Develop individual and team growth through effective, timely coaching, performance management and recognition

  • Develop and train staff to optimize output, quality of work, continuous improvement and succession in alignment with tactical and strategic organizational goals

We’re looking for a Finance Director with:

  • BS degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred

  • 5+ years in a leadership role, overseeing a team of finance professionals

  • Direct experience overseeing the financial reporting and analysis of a high-volume manufacturing company

  • Proven success at leading and implementing change on both a small and large scale, utilizing Lean principles and success measurement tool

  • Experienced professional, supporting organizational financial success from project conception through final delivery

  • Strategic insight and execution across the entire business development lifecycle

  • Possesses a thorough understanding of contract manufacturing

  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team environment

  • Results driven by leading team success

  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)

Physical requirements and working conditions:

Our manufacturing Plant is comprised of enclosed office and manufacturing space. This position requires the ability to:

  • Move throughout the entire facility to attend to various issues

  • Work effectively in teams across functional groups with strong communication skills and the ability to lead

  • Perform sedentary work on various computer systems

  • This Finance Director position is located on-site in our East Longmeadow facility
