Eliot is currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Family Support Worker to provide in-person support and assistance to families receiving services at our Family Resource Center. The ideal candidate will conduct intake assessments and design creative workshops to develop family support plans and ensure their continued success. Individuals with a bachelor's degree in social work or experience work with youth and families are strongly encouraged to apply.
Our Family Resource Center is part of a statewide network of community-based program offering multi-cultural parenting programs, support groups, early childhood services information and referral resources. Our goal is to support families to strengthen their bonds, connect to others, and engage in their community.
Responsibilities:
Conduct intake assessment with FRC approved tools and screening measures.
Ensure that family support plans are culturally sensitive/strengths based and reflect identified needs and preferences.
Develop and execute creative and “outside the box” interventions to support individuals and/or families.
Conduct workshops or groups as assigned.
Respond to requests from families and community stakeholders.
Develop and maintain community partnerships to enhance services.
Coordinate and communicate with the administrative staff to support the resolution of administrative issues related to the operation of the program.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field with one (1) year experience working with youth and families.
Strong ability to effectively engage and support individuals and families from culturally and economically diverse backgrounds. Ability to conduct a comprehensive assessment of a family system and refer for services that coincide with identified needs and preferences.
Excellent verbal and written skills.
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
Working knowledge of continuums of services in Everett and surrounding communities.
Ability to make meaningful contributions to the Family Resource Center’s mission(workshop ideas/facilitation, cultural events, and self-help groups).
Computer literacy and skill in the use of computers and related software applications. Ability to consistently meet all necessary background and credentialing requirements.
Must have valid drivers license and reliable transportation to and from work and for providing services in the community.
Must have strong ability to develop and maintain positive and collaborative relationships with clients, staff, co-workers, supervisor and community stakeholders.
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and cultural groups. Demonstrate compassion, empathy, kindness throughout the provision of strengths based supports.
Compensation: $21.48/hour
Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply and receive a 6% differential $22.77/hour.
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
