This role in summary

Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Continuous Improvement Lead. The role is for our Fall River, MA location. As Continuous Improvement Lead (Hourly) you will serve as a technical resource and project leader in the development and application of production systems across a variety of manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for the cost, quality, and safety improvements while maintaining daily operations to achieve division goals.

Hours - 8 AM - 4:30 PM

Hourly Rate: $29.00

Your responsibilities will include

  • Identify, analyze and solve manufacturing process issues and equipment related problems using Word Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodology

  • Initiate safety, cost, quality, and productivity improvements in the manufacturing operations

  • Support, develop, and improve sheet metal forming and joining processes and related equipment in a high speed manufacturing environment

  • Responsible for design, development, testing, and control of day to day, minor, and major projects involving tools, equipment, plant and manufacturing processes

  • Provide technical support to technicians and work teams and serve as a technical resource for the department

  • Provide technical support as required for product design, supplier quality and advanced product quality planning.

  • Determine root cause of problems and implement corrective & preventive actions utilizing methods from lean manufacturing and Six Sigma

  • Analyze, evaluate and document standards according to quality system requirements such as SOPs, Control Plans, and FMEAs

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or STEM field

  • 1+ years of Manufacturing work experience

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, world-class manufacturing, and OPEX ( 6 sigma ) tools and the ability to apply them in order to establish manufacturing processes

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the specific ability to act as a team leader and interact at all layers within the organization

  • Strong mechanical knowledge

  • Excellent planning, project management, and leadership skills

  • Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills

  • Solid decision-making and judgment skills

  • Resourcefulness in accomplishing objectives and completing tasks
