SPECTRUM LIGHTING Product Design Engineer in Fall River, Massachusetts
General Description Engaged in multiple phases of projects in New Product Development, Custom, and Sustaining Engineering. Works in cross functional teams with ownership of tasks and accountability for results. Collaborates with all interfacing disciplines from concept through detailed design, prototyping, testing, validation, and formal release/product launch. Demonstrates competencies in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly. Creates innovative design concepts for New Product objectives, Custom, or continuous improvements for Sustaining Engineering projects. Creates clear and accurate mechanical drawings, assembly documentation, bill of materials, wiring diagrams, and all other required engineering content necessary to serve internal and external customers. Requirements Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering or comparable field of study. Associates degree in engineering or technical field with two or more years professional experience. Proficient with SolidWorks or similar CAD software. Desirable Working knowledge of the Lighting industry codes and standards (Underwriters Laboratories, National Electric Code, National Fire Prevention Association, or other). Professional experience in the Lighting Industry or adjacent industry. Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamic software specifically for thermal analysis. Working knowledge of materials, processes, and assembly. Experience creating design of experiments for problem solving. Experience creating thermal and optical test plans.
