This Role In Summary:
Whirlpool is currently seeking a qualified candidate for a Stockroom Supervisor. This position is located at our Fall River, MA site.The stockroom supervisor leadswith authority for it to be controlled and managed efficiently.This role is extremely important. The Stockroom Supervisor must ensure the stockroom runs efficiently; this requires a huge amount of organizational skills, driving the stockroom team to ensure deliveries are processed quickly. Efficient use of time and space is key to success.
Work Shift: 1st (6:45am – 3:15pm)
Responsibilities Will Include
Supervises and coordinates activities of hourly workers concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts, in stockroom.Plans layout of stockroom, warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored
Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped, methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock, and related problems.
Studies records and recommends remedial actions for reported non-usable, slow-moving, and excess stock.
Schedules work for special and periodic inventories.
Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock-control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve
Create & Implement best practices for stock room activities including receiving, material handling QC exchange of material and line side presentation.
Logistics and Customer Support (LCS) and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) improvement projects related to material management, logistics shop floor execution, and material flow.
Develop and grow team members
Works closely with production to support line side needs with a sense of urgency
Develops strategies to maintain control location accuracy
High School Diploma or GED
3+ years of experience in inventory management or material flow
1+ years of supervisory experience
Preferred Skills and Requirements:
Manufacturing or Logistics experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with organizational and time management skills.
Experience working with SAP
Knowledge of WCM methodology
