Lawrence-Lynch Corp. Project Engineer in Falmouth, Massachusetts
As a Project Engineer, you play a critical role in supporting the Project Management and Field Operations teams, using your knowledge of CAD design work, construction bid and estimating experience, and civil engineering principals. From processing detailed project design files to preparing accurate construction CAD models, your application of standard civil engineering is a lead driver in establishing and maintaining Lawrence-Lynch Corp\'s competitive prices when bidding on jobs. Using AutoCAD Civil3D, you provide site layout files and 3D surface models used to build construction projects. During construction, you obtain data collected by the field supervisors and produce as-built drawings. You have the ability to see your work come to life at each and every job site by providing engineering support in various stages of the job. Within your position, you work with some of the most competitive and highest regarded design firms to acquire numerous design and survey control files necessary for set-up and calibration of our automated/cutting edge grading machinery and GPS work. You take the lead in collaborating on productive and progressive design techniques, procedures, and criteria in the assigned technical areas. You perform cut/fill analyses and earthworks take-offs which play a pivotal role in the bidding process. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PROJECT ENGINEER Associate\'s degree in Computer Drafting or Engineering Technology plus two (2) years of relevant experience in CAD, estimating, land surveying and/or field operations; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Some experience with AutoCAD is required. Must demonstrate excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word and Excel. In-depth knowledge of civil engineering infrastructure projects, including paving, concrete, water, sewer, grading, drainage and other utilities. Ability to read and understand consultant drawings and reports. Understanding of estimating and AutoCAD design functions. Valid driver\'s license. Ability to successfully pass a CORI background check is required for certain projects. Have or ability to obtain OSHA 10 certification and first aid/CPR certification. A Bachelor\'s degree in Civil Engineering is strongly preferred. Five (5) years of relevant work experience in civil work, including three (3) years of CAD design software experience, is highly desired; AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is considered a bonus. Experience with estimating software such as BID2Win and Agtek earthworks is desired, but we will train the right candidate. Competent person, excavation, trenching, first aid/CPR, and fall protection certifications are also preferred but not necessarily required.
