Pare Corporation Dam Senior Project Engineer in Foxboro, Massachusetts
POSITION SUMMARY: Pare Corporation is looking to expand our dam engineering group with the addition of an engineer with at least 15 years of direct damengineering experience inclusive of evaluation and design of the types of aging dams that dominate the New England landscape. Theprospective candidate shall be a licensed professional engineer experienced in the development of construction plans/specifications, projectmanagement, client management, proposal development, and business development. The ideal candidate will also possess a passion foraddressing the many challenges and opportunities confronting the regions public and private dam owners. DUTIES AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform and/or supervise geotechnical engineering field and laboratory analysis/evaluations for dam and site/civil engineeringprojects. This may include directing the work of engineers, technicians, administrative staff, and subcontractors in a multidisciplinedteam environment. Review and/or prepare engineering reports, progress reports, contract documents, and other project documents. Develop new techniques and/or improved processes, materials, or products. Prepare progress reports, schedules, and budgets for ongoing projects. Prepare scope, staffing estimates, progress reports, schedules, and budgets for new proposals. Attend and present at interviews, project meetings and community outreach presentations. Assist in contract negotiations. Participate in business development plan implementation. Represent the firm in the community and through professional organizations and events. Assist in staff performance evaluations. Other related activities as needed and assigned. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES: Registered Professional Engineer license required. Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program; master's degree or equivalent preferred. 15+ years of experience with an in-depth knowledgeable of geotechnical design required; and engagement in life-long learning tomaintain knowledge of contemporary issues. Experience with engineering software: AutoCAD, HydroCAD, SEEP/W, SLOPE/W, L-pile, Plaxis, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, andGIS Systems preferred. Must be able to communicate effectively using verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to internal and externalaudiences. Attention to detail and the ability to think critically. Self-motivated with a professional attitude. Active participation in professional and/or community organizations, with leadership roles, especially at a local level, preferred. Experience with staff management, project management, and business development. Service-oriented approach to client management and willingness to act as a mentor for junior-level staff preferred.
