Neurology Center of New England Medical Receptionist in Foxboro, Massachusetts

In this role, the Medical Receptionist will ensure the smooth operation of the practice, and will assist patients with scheduling appointments, handle in person and telephone inquiries, maintain patient records, and facilitate communication between patients and medical staff. *** 1+ years of experience required *** Essential Job Functions including, but not limited to: - Greet patients and visitors with a warm and friendly demeanor - Endeavors to keep patients on schedule by reminding provider of service delays. - Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries efficiently. - Verify patient information, insurance coverage, and process necessary paperwork accurately - Maintain electronic medical records (EMR) system, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality - Coordinate patient referrals, prescription refills, and medical records requests. - Assist with billing and insurance patient inquiries - Handle patient check-ins and check-outs, collect co-payments, and reconcile payments at the end of the day. - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room. - Collaborate with medical staff to ensure optimal patient care and satisfaction - Maintain office cash box throughout the day and prepare nightly bank deposits when needed. - Open and sort all office mail. Dispense all mail to appropriate staff members. - Receive packages from multiple carriers. - Perform other administrative tasks and special projects as assigned - Participate in the medical office emergency routine when required. Summons Ambulance or EMS and assist any staff members as needed. - Provide coverage for check-out during lunchtimes, so all staff get a proper lunch break. Required Education: - High School Diploma Skill, Licensure and Knowledge Requirements: - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written - Strong customer service sills with a compassionate and empathetic approach - Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment - Proficiency in electronic medical records (Eclinical Works) preferred - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in basic office skills and administrative tasks. - Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is an advantage. - Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and patient needs in a busy neurology practice - Ability to use discretion while handling sensitive information. - Strong problem-solving skills - Ability to work well with others Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
