Job Summary: The District Mentoring Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to create the district mentoring programming. This role will lead professional development for new FRCS educators K-12. The District mentor Coordinator will work closely with educators to create culturally responsive student-centered classroom learning environments in which every student engages in meaningful learning experiences Responsibilities: Create K-12 district mentor programming Match selection/pairing/support of new mentors Train and support district mentors Develop a series of professional development trainings Direct year-end celebration activity/banquets Develop supportive relationships with mentors and mentees Observing teachers Provide feedback from observation Communicate and engage with mentees regularly creating supportive relationships Offering coaching Maintaining confidentiality between mentor and teacher Identifying professional development and other resources Maintaining a trusting and professional relationship with the teacher Provide support in the areas of growth for the mentee Counseling and other individualized supports as needed Skills and Abilities: Strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated skills in word processing, data management software, and layout Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with a wide variety of individuals Demonstrated leadership skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to handle multiple major projects at once Leadership ability in areas of human relations, cultural responsiveness, and equity General Expectations: Manage oneself by being organized, prepared, and punctual Manage resources, meet deadlines, follow through on commitments Act in ways that directly support the mission and vision of FRCS Learn and grow as a professional Use clear verbal and written communication and active listening skills Develop and maintain rapport and effective relationships with children and adults contacted in carrying out duties and responsibilities by using courtesy, diplomacy, collaboration, cooperation and professional conduct Contribute to the goals and success of all teams and team members through collaboration, cooperation, and flexibility in team discussions, activities, and decision-making Maintain high ethical standards, legal responsibility, and confidentiality Qualifications- Required: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Education 3+ years experience as a Classroom Teacher Experience in mentoring, preferably in educational settings Experience working with diverse student and community populations Candidates are subject to background checks including CORI Clearance and Fingerprinting. Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.
