Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

GE Energy Management Services LLC seeks Senior Software Engineer (multiple positions) to be able to learn new products and technology to cater to current needs and serve as subject matter expert (SME) for overall product technical implementation. Responsible for providing technical leadership and defining, developing, and evolving software in a fast paced and agile development environment using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure. Provide technical leadership to an agile team of 5-7. Participate actively in Scrum team following Agile/TDD/BDD approach. Work with Product Line Leaders (PLLs) to understand product requirements & vision. Translate requirements / vision into prioritized list of user stories and deliver to required timelines and quality standards. Work with product line leaders and architects to develop multi generation software technology plans. Coach, mentor and lead the team. Troubleshoot bugs and other issues (eg. system instabilities) & work with the right team (like support, engineering, product management etc.) to resolve it. Engage subject matter experts in successful transfer of complex domain knowledge. Apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring, and Testing Techniques. Write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project; Understand performance parameters and assess application performance. Work on core data structures and algorithms and implement them using technology chosen. Proactively share information across the team, to the right audience with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness.

Qualifications / Requirements:

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and 4 years of progressively responsible experience in a related occupation. Alternatively, the position requires a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science or in “STEM” majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and 2 years of progressively responsible experience in a related occupation. The position also requires 2 years of experience working with technologies such as C#, ASP.NET, REST, SOAP, JavaScript, JQUERY, HTML, and CSS and software design patterns; 2 years of experience working with database technologies such as Oracle and SQL; 2 years of experience with tools such as GIT, TFS, JIRA, Rally, and Salesforce; 2 years of experience working on software projects in the Oil and Gas domain; 2 years of experience working with Asset Performance Management (APM) modules such as Mechanical Integrity (MI), Asset Strategy Management (ASM), and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS). 100% fully remote position. Telecommuting is permitted for this role. When not telecommuting, must report to GE offices in Foxborough, MA.
