Advocates CBHC Security Manager in Framingham, Massachusetts

Overview

Salary: $72,000-$75,000

The Security Manager will organize and oversee all security operations of our agency’s Community Behavioral Health Center sites. The security manager will develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain security standards and provide leadership and supervision to the Safety and Security team.

The Security Manager will demonstrate excellent surveillance and emergency response skills. They will need a strong commitment to security rules and knowledge of all hazards and threats to safety. The Security Manager will exhibit leadership skills and demonstrate crisis intervention skills.

The goal is to create and preserve an environment where employees, visitors and property are safe and well-protected.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate all phases of security operations; including but not limited to scheduling, job assignments, and security operations.

  • Develop and implement security policies, protocols and procedures in accordance with organization policy and procedure development protocols.

  • Oversee budgets for security operations and monitor expenses.

  • Recruit, train and supervise security officers. Lead staff meetings.

  • Collaborate with CBHC leadership to determine operational needs.

  • Plan and coordinate security operations for specific events.

  • Train staff on emergency procedures and coordinate staff when responding to emergencies and alarms

  • Provide Safety Care (crisis intervention) Training as needed.

  • Implement systems for patrolling buildings, bathrooms, and parking areas of the clinics.

  • Oversee security systems such as keypads, surveillance systems, door locking mechanisms and monitoring of keys in coordination with Advocates facilities and IT programs.

  • Investigate and resolve issues. Review reports on incidents and breaches. Communicate with other departments regarding incidents, as needed.

  • Create reports for management on security status. Maintain necessary documentation, statistics, and records in accordance with program requirements.

  • Analyze data to form proposals for improvements (e.g. implementation of new technology).

  • Provide supervision to individuals and sites.

  • Maintain a welcoming, trauma informed, and culturally sensitive environment.

  • Maintain effective communication with staff and those seeking services to facilitate and promote effective working relationships and superior customer service.

  • Seek and create opportunities to collaborate across programs, internally and externally.

  • Liaison to other community providers, police departments, ambulance services and related agencies for relationship development and communication.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Further education in security administration or similar field preferred.

  • Proven experience as security manager or similar position.

  • Experience using relevant technology and equipment (e.g. CCTV)

  • Experience in reporting and emergency response planning.

  • Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures.

  • Solid understanding of budgeting and statistical data analysis.

  • Strongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.

  • Basic computer skills. Working knowledge of MS Office

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and ability to use good judgment.
