Advocates Corporate Risk Analyst in Framingham, Massachusetts

Overview

Salary: $60,000-$70,000

The Risk Review Manager conducts reviews of various adverse events and allegations of abuse and/or neglect involving Advocates, its employees, and its clients.They are responsible for completing investigations and internal reviews as assigned, as well as other activities that help inform the agency of areas of risk and to minimize potential harm befalling the agency’s clientele. They will work closely with the Sr. Director of Corporate Risk Management to conduct and report on investigations, communicate findings, and collaborate with others around Action Steps and other plans of correction.

Responsibilities

  1. Conduct investigations into alleged abuse or neglect of individuals supported.

  2. Receive and log complaints from various sources.

  3. Review relevant, applicable documentation and regulations.

  4. Conduct fact-finding interviews of staff, clients, and relevant other parties.

  5. Derive reasonable conclusions that consider all available, relevant facts and information.Write thorough, cohesive reports of findings.Liaison with DPPC, DPH, DMH, DDS, and other state agency investigators.

  6. Receive, monitor, and facilitate completion of corrective actions issued internally or by an applicable state agency.

  7. Collaborate with various Advocates personnel including IT, Fiscal, HR, Facilities, and Quality Management to obtain relevant information and documentation.

  8. Work with attorneys representing Advocates’ interests, and/or complete activities according to their recommendations.

  9. Monitor and maintain database(s) of ongoing investigations, action steps, and other activities.

  10. Remain current in knowledge of regulations applicable to all areas of the organization, including the organization’s obligations around reporting and responding to all varieties of alleged abuse, neglect, and other misconduct that could jeopardize the wellbeing of the agency’s clientele or that could be considered violations of policy, regulation, or law.

  11. Assess adherence to regulations and best practices both after an incident or allegation has occurred and proactively.

  12. Maintain all required trainings and credentials.

  13. Attend relevant trainings as desired and/or as required.

  14. Performs all duties in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years’ experience in healthcare/human services auditing, investigations, and/or risk management or HS Diploma or equivalent and 11-15 years’ experience in healthcare/human services auditing, investigations, and/or risk management

  2. Strongly prefer a candidate that will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.

  3. Strong computer knowledge. Strong command of Microsoft Word and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

  4. Proven leadership, management and administrative skills and ability to multitask effectively.

  5. High energy level, superior interpersonal skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a team atmosphere.

  6. Superior communication skills, both written and oral.

  7. Strong analytical and decision-making skills.

  8. Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
