As the Director of Agile Program & Portfolio Management, you will be responsible for guiding the development, implementation, and sustainability of agile and IT project management practices across the organization. This role is pivotal in ensuring that IT projects align with organizational goals, optimizing efficiency, and ensuring timely delivery.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and implement agile and IT project management strategies that align with business goals.
Lead and oversee multiple agile teams, ensuring optimal project outcomes.
Coordinate value streams, support Agile program execution, and foster operational excellence through peer-to-peer learning and communities of practice.
Monitor and report on project performance, risks, and challenges.
Guide teams in the creation and implementation of agile methodologies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless communication and efficient delivery of IT projects.
Regularly review and improve existing agile and IT project management processes.
Develop training materials and conduct workshops to educate staff on agile and IT project management best practices.
This role has a direct impact on the efficiency and effectiveness of IT projects, influencing the overall success of the organization's strategic objectives. By ensuring IT projects are aligned with organizational goals, this role supports the broader business strategy, driving digital transformation and fostering innovation.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field, preferred.
Minimum Years of Experience:
10+ years of IT project and portfolio management and Agile experience.
6+ years in a managerial role.
Basic Qualifications :
Driving an Agile experience, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
Demonstrated experience in leading, implementing, and optimizing Agile methodologies across multiple teams or departments.
Certified in at least one Agile methodology (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
Proven experience in guiding teams through Agile transformations or implementing Agile from scratch.
Experience in defining and executing strategy for Agile Maturity.
Proficiency in using project management software tools like JIRA, Trello, or Asana.
Experience in overseeing projects across various platforms and technologies, ensuring alignment with business needs and technical requirements.
Demonstrated ability to identify project risks early and implement mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project progression.
Proven track record in effectively communicating with stakeholders at various levels, from team members to C-level executives.
Experience in preparing and managing project budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and cost-effectiveness.
Demonstrated success in leading diverse teams, fostering a collaborative environment, and driving results.
Commitment to ongoing professional development, staying updated with the latest trends and best practices in IT project management and Agile methodologies.
Experience in implementing quality assurance processes, ensuring that all project deliverables meet the highest standards.
Preferred Qualifications :
Advanced credentials such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP).
Certifications in other Agile frameworks such as SAFe, LeSS, or Disciplined Agile.
Experience in strategic IT planning aligned with overarching business goals.
Demonstrated proficiency in organizational change management related to Agile and IT transformations.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and bridge the technical and non-technical gap.
Skills in negotiating with and managing third-party vendors for optimal project outcomes.
Familiarity with contemporary technological trends such as AI, Machine Learning, and Cloud Services.
Proven experience in creating and leading training sessions or workshops for Agile methodologies or IT best practices.
A history of active participation in or leadership of R&D initiatives to foster innovation.
Expertise in spearheading digital transformation initiatives.
