South Middlesex Opportunity Council Gym Monitor in Framingham, Massachusetts
Summary: Gym Monitors are responsible for the building and grounds while there are rental groups utilizing the facility.

Primary Responsibilities:
Greeting groups, ensuring they know what field and what time frame they have the area.
Ensure that the toddler room door is unlocked because it is an emergency exit while any groups are in the building.
Ensure that the gym or soccer doors are unlocked 10 minutes before the rental time.
Supervising by walking the fields and gym to be sure that patrons and guests are safe and have what they need while utilizing the facility.
Collecting rental payments and processing payments according to procedure.
If there are children or spectators, they must stay in the area rented (renters, spectators, and children are not allowed in classrooms, offices, and playgrounds.)
Ensure the areas used, including bathrooms, are left in clean condition
Lock all perimeter doors, checking the doors that should have been previously locked
Taking out the trash barrels in rental areas.
Communicate with CommUNITY Center Director if the need arises.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Knowledge of the building and fields; as well as where to find basic maintenance supplies
Key to the building to lock/unlock doors as needed
Ability to handle a diverse population of people
Ability to supervise and take control of situations that may arise such as them not getting off the fields on time, etc.
Strong communicator
Ability to work independently.
Polite and respectful.
Physical Requirements: Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time. Being able to lift trash into dumpster. Sweep. Clean bathrooms.
Organizational Relationship: Directly reports to the CommUNITY Center Director.
Working Conditions: As part of the responsibilities of this position, the soccer gym will have direct or incidental contact with clients served by SMOC in various programs funded or administered through the Executive Office of Health and Human Services. A successful background check is required.
