Lead II Accountant

What you’ll be doing :

  • Oversee the accounting and collection of 2.0B annual promo income

  • Supervise and provide direction to a team of 4 exempt associates in the collection, accounting, and reporting $2B vendor promotional revenue, including the hiring of staff, providing training and support and development

  • Meet with key vendors to resolve issues and implement process improvements

  • Manage the monthly close process and ensure proper controls and accounting are maintained

  • Ensure reconciliations are completed accurately and on time

  • Ensure Sarbanes Oxley documentation is up to date and controls are in place

  • Support quarterly financial review with external auditors and ensure all support is provided accurately and on time as it relates to Vendor AR

  • Oversee the monthly roadmap meetings and discussions with DMM’s and Category Merchants to ensure all vendor programs are captured in ATS and accounted for appropriately

  • Partner with Merchandising to identify and resolve issues and implement process improvements

  • Provide insights to management on forecast roadmaps, cushion, and risks

What you bring to the table :

  • Understanding of vendor program agreements and knowledge of ATS system preferred

  • Ability to work independently within tight deadlines and balance workload effectively while keeping manager informed of issues

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Proven leadership skills within a team environment

  • Proven ability to motivate staff and execute at high performance standards

  • Well-developed interpersonal and motivational skills

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management

  • Must be able to make decisions based on interpretation of contracts

Qualifications :

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications

  • 6 – 8 years’ relevant work experience

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
