Staples Manager Strategic Sourcing in Framingham, Massachusetts

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead Strategic Sourcing Events and RFQ’s and contribute to the creation of our Annual Sourcing Event Calendar.

  • Negotiate proposals with suppliers that can meet Staples’ cost, quality, and service requirements for Own Brand products.

  • Communicate and gather inputs across our business, collaborating with our Global Sourcing and Product teams.

  • Perform detailed Net Cost analysis factoring all business requirements to present a recommendation for Sourcing decisions.

  • Identify and negotiate cost savings opportunities with suppliers and support the Proactive Cost Management goals.

  • Monitor cost model trends using proprietary software and recommend cost management actions from the developed insights.

  • Manage relationships with new and existing suppliers, communicating our standards and requirements, and working to resolve any issues related to product quality, safety, and operational performance.

  • Understand the financial impacts of various decisions to a business’s P&L and build recommendations for the most beneficial path forward.

  • Strategic thinking and business acumen.

  • Adaptability and resilience in a dynamic environment.

  • Ability to manage and adapt projects amid ambiguity while holding project team members accountable to project timelines.

  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful sourcing strategies.

  • Experience in contract negotiation and supplier management.

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in procurement software and tools.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Understanding of Manufacturing process

  • Adept with Microsoft Excel and other Office Suite products.

What’s needed - Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Business, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, or a related field or equivalent work experience

  • 7+ years of Sourcing, Procurement, Manufacturing, or Merchandising

What’s needed - Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP)

  • Knowledge of global sourcing practices and regulations.

  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.

  • Experience in a leadership or managerial role is preferred.

  • Preferred to have experience managing supplier.
