Actalent Mechanical Engineer in Framingham, Massachusetts

Job Title: Mechanical EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to manage large square footage buildings, such as 350,000 and 130,000 square foot critical buildings. This role involves overseeing Schneider and ALC (automated logic) BMS, maintaining HVAC equipment, and performing electrical system testing and audits. You will also be responsible for water treatment, cooling tower maintenance, and creating change controls and MOP documentation. Additionally, you will provide mechanical engineering services from conceptual design through detailed design, commissioning, and qualification for pharmaceutical and manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage large square footage buildings, including 350,000 and 130,000 square foot critical buildings.

  • Preside over Schneider and ALC (automated logic) BMS.

  • Maintain CRAH units, Chillers, FCU, FPT, RTU, and other HVAC equipment.

  • Provide testing for electrical systems, electrical audits, fire panel, and generator no load testing.

  • Perform water treatment and maintain the cooling tower.

  • Create change controls and write MOP documentation.

  • Provide mechanical engineering services supporting projects from conceptual through detailed design, commissioning, and qualification of pharmaceutical, R&D, process development, and manufacturing facilities.

  • Interface with other designers and client representatives to supervise and coordinate the development of design deliverables.

  • Develop design documentation, including engineering calculations and drawings for HVAC, ductwork, process piping, and plant utilities.

  • Develop equipment specifications, protocols, and other design deliverables supporting facility expansions, renovations, new equipment, and remediation projects.

  • Supply feasibility studies, concept development, safety/risk analysis, equipment/utilities capacity analysis, and sizing.

  • Provide commissioning and troubleshooting support for equipment and utility systems.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in managing large square footage buildings.

  • Proficiency with Schneider and ALC (automated logic) BMS.

  • Experience with InSite Production and MCCI for building preventive maintenance.

  • Ability to maintain CRAH units, Chillers, FCU, FPT, RTU, and other HVAC equipment.

  • Capability to provide testing for electrical systems, electrical audits, fire panel, and generator no load testing.

  • Knowledge in performing water treatment and maintaining the cooling tower.

  • Experience in creating change controls and writing MOP documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a regulated pharma or biotech environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Biochemical, or Mechanical Engineering, Biotechnology, or equivalent.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00
