Sanofi Group NGS Senior Research Associate, GMU CMC in Framingham, Massachusetts
We are seeking a motivated Senior Research Associate to join the newly formed Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) Core group to support genomic analyses of multiple therapeutic modalities within the Genomic Medicine Unit (GMU) CMC organization. The role is responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining NGS workflows and instrumentation in a GxP environment. The ideal candidate will be expected to interface across analytical and data sciences groups to develop and implement genomic analytical solutions for programs spanning precandidate selection through commercialization.

Assist in developing genomic analysis methods and technologies used to characterize and release various biopharmaceutical candidates including monoclonal antibodies, viral vectors for gene therapy, and cell lines.
Interface and coordinate experiment execution with various analytical and data science groups.
Develop and execute complex molecular biology protocols, specifically various NGS-based library preparation and characterization protocols.
Operate, monitor, and maintain NGS and other workflow associated instrumentation.
Perform routine wet-lab testing of established NGS workflows.
Keep records of development work and testing in a GxP environment utilizing electronic notebook solutions.
Support and maintain reagent inventory, writing of technical reports, and SOP writing/lifecycle.
Present results to internal teams comprised of members from multiple groups and stakeholders.
Master’s Degree in a relevant biology discipline, or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant biology discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience.
Proficiency with basic molecular biology techniques (i.e., pipetting, PCR, and qPCR) as well as nucleic acid extraction and analysis techniques (i.e., Nanodrop, DNA fragment analyzers, ddPCR, etc.).
Familiarity with and understanding of NGS platforms, specifically those utilizing the synthesis by sequencing technique (i.e., Illumina platforms).
Excellent communication skills.
Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
Familiarity with liquid handlers and other automation tools.
Knowledge of and experience with other sequencing platforms.
High level understanding of NGS analysis pipeline setup and execution.
An understanding of quality by design.
