Staples Principal Software Engineer in Framingham, Massachusetts

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working in team to learn and support complex applications

  • Find quick fix or work around for the issues reported

  • Build application monitoring that helps prevent issues to happen

  • Fix the security vulnerabilities identified and reported

  • Find solutions for issues and document for future and training

  • Bring in engineering team where appropriate

  • Learn modern ways to bring stability to the applications that are deployed on azure cloud and on-prem cloud

  • Develop, validate and promote features and enhancements for the applications as necessary

  • Bring in process improvements

What you bring to the table:

The Software Engineer III supports and enhances complex applications and data objects from a detailed design where performance, efficiency, and reliability are critical to the entire system. While this position has no direct reports, it may begin to lead and coordinate resources on assigned projects. They are involved in maintaining the application stability, analyzing, tracking incidents to closer with team. Also creates right monitoring and triggering notifications that are actionable and automate the healing process where possible.

Qualifications :

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent knowledge

  • 5-8 Years of experience in OpenStack application development/support

  • Strong experience in Java, Spring boot applications and micro services

  • Working experience on MQ based integration

  • Working on third party tools integration

  • Participating in Agile Scrum methodology

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications:

  • Playing scrum master role is a plus

  • Working knowledge with Azure cloud components like AKS

  • Working experience in Supply Chain domain is a plus

  • Knowledge on mobile development is a plus
