Job Description
This role is responsible for the coordination and development of blended learning solutions designed to provide associates with the necessary skills and knowledge needed to be successful in their jobs. With minimal supervision and support from the L&D Manager, this individual will create learning deliverables for our associates. Additionally, the Senior Instructional Designer may partner with another L&D team member to develop and deliver curricula that meets or exceeds established expectations for any of our diverse business units.
Primary Responsibilities
Design and develop innovative training solutions that meet SCORM compliance standards and are based in sound instructional designs strategies
Develop and create content using rapid development tools and prototyping methods
Update/support existing curricula including, but not limited to paper-based, ILT, VILT, e-learning, and m-learning materials
Develop e-learning modules, job aids, quick reference aids, workbooks, and coaching materials
Designs, develops, tests, debugs, and delivers learning solutions to the HR Ops team for LMS publishing
Conducts SME interviews as required
Effectively partner with other L&D team members and business partners to understand and meet the company’s goals and strategic initiatives
Produces high quality work within short project cycles and can manage multiple projects under aggressive timelines
Qualifications
Knowledge / Skill Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (graphic design preferred)
Formal education or equivalent experience in Learning & Development, Instructional Design, or related field
5-7+ years producing training deliverables
5+ years producing online training deliverables
2+ years Retail experience
Solid background and knowledge in instructional design theories and models
Ability to translate abstract ideas and concepts into learning solutions with practical application
Expert knowledge and experience with software tools including: Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Cloud Applications and Services (specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat), Microsoft 365 Applications and Services
Ability to develop animations and graphics to supplement standard e-learning design
Comprehension of graphic design and/or photography principles
Excellent project management and communication skills – verbal and written
Ability to work independently and on diverse teams
Detail oriented
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with training evaluation tools and survey software i.e. Survey Monkey, Microsoft Forms
Experience with audio/video techniques, audio recording, a/v equipment and practices
Experience with additional software or platforms such Brightcove, Audacity, etc.
Knowledge of LMS systems, experience with Cornerstone LMS platform a plus
