South Middlesex Opportunity Council Therapeutic Trainer - Behavior Management Monitor in Framingham, Massachusetts

SUMMARY
The Therapeutic Trainer (TT&S) and Behavior Management Monitor (BMM) is a BA level paraprofessional who works in tandem with a lead clinician who provides home-based family therapy or behavior management support for families. The TT&S/BMM assists in the implementation of a treatment or behavior management plan created by the lead in collaboration with the youth, family and other providers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the identified youth and family in achieving the goals set in the action plan
Reports to the lead clinician on the case on a regular basis
Services many include teaching the youth to understand, direct, interpret, manage and control feeling and emotional responses to different situations
Assist the family in addressing the emotional and mental health needs of the youth
Available by phone for consultation
Attend and participate in weekly CBHI team meeting
Participate in regular monthly staff meeting and scheduled trainings as required
Utilize fully all components of current electronic health record system
Complete all required documentation in a timely manner
Ensure compliance with program/department, agency and/or funder requirements, as well as, SMOC policies and procedures
Adhere to the clinic’s Policy and Procedure Manual
Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
MassHealth approved Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Education, and Social Science
1-2 years of experience working with children and families
Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License require.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP
Directly reports to Child and Family Program Director.
Direct reports of this position are none.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
As part of the responsibilities of this position, the Therapeutic Trainer/Behavior Management Monitor will have direct or incidental contact with clients served by SMOC in various programs funded or administered through the Executive Office of Health and Human Services. A successful background check is required.
