South Middlesex Opportunity Council Therapeutic Trainer - Behavior Management Monitor in Framingham, Massachusetts

SIGN ON BONUS $1,000.00

SUMMARY

The Therapeutic Trainer (TT&S) and Behavior Management Monitor (BMM) is a BA level paraprofessional who works in tandem with a lead clinician who provides home-based family therapy or behavior management support for families. The TT&S/BMM assists in the implementation of a treatment or behavior management plan created by the lead in collaboration with the youth, family and other providers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the identified youth and family in achieving the goals set in the action plan

  • Reports to the lead clinician on the case on a regular basis

  • Services many include teaching the youth to understand, direct, interpret, manage and control feeling and emotional responses to different situations

  • Assist the family in addressing the emotional and mental health needs of the youth

  • Available by phone for consultation

  • Attend and participate in weekly CBHI team meeting

  • Participate in regular monthly staff meeting and scheduled trainings as required

  • Utilize fully all components of current electronic health record system

  • Complete all required documentation in a timely manner

  • Ensure compliance with program/department, agency and/or funder requirements, as well as, SMOC policies and procedures

  • Adhere to the clinic’s Policy and Procedure Manual

  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • MassHealth approved Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Education, and Social Science

  • 1-2 years of experience working with children and families

  • Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License require.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP

  • Directly reports to Child and Family Program Director.

  • Direct reports of this position are none.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

As part of the responsibilities of this position, the Therapeutic Trainer/Behavior Management Monitor will have direct or incidental contact with clients served by SMOC in various programs funded or administered through the Executive Office of Health and Human Services. A successful background check is required.
