Your Contribution to Our Mission:

The Survivability Product Development Manager will have responsibility in the following areas:

  • Manage all aspects of a mature and growing product line.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for setting technical direction and drive development in QinetiQ's Survivability group.

  • Candidate will have technical leadership in the field of military and commercial survivability products.

  • The candidate will be have knowledge in armor design and installations for both land and Air applications , and have an understanding of ballistics and mechanical engineering.

  • Develop project and program opportunities, leveraging internal and external funding.

  • Lead interdisciplinary teams to execute complex projects, ranging from early development to product delivery.

  • Provide technical leadership within funding, schedule, and customer constraints.

  • Work within our survivability community and build relationships and partnerships.

  • The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to engage customers, write proposals, lead teams, interact with internal and external customers, and successfully execute pro ducts

    To Land This Job, You Need:

  • Strong project management and leadership skills. Able to lead multidisciplinary teams, supervise and mentor senior and junior level engineers, plan and manage projects including tasks and budgets.

  • The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to engage customers, write proposals, lead teams, interact with internal and external customers, and successfully execute complex pro ducts .

  • Ability to manage holistic product development and transition products to manufacturing.

  • Hands on experience in ballistic testing and troubleshooting survivability systems in laboratory and field environments, strong skills across entire design cycle.

  • Demonstrated ability in making system-level tradeoffs under tight schedule, cost, and customer constraints.

  • Must have a understanding of configuration management in system design, and product realization.

  • Must demonstrate excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills with extensive technical & proposal writing experience. Strong presentation skills and the ability to lead customer interaction required.

  • Experience with Pro-Engineer, MS Word, MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • BS or MS in mechanical engineering/sciences with 8 - 10 years industry experience in mechanical products development.

  • Experience with defense product development is desirable.
