Description About the job Our client is a growing full-service accounting, tax and consulting firm seeking talented accountants with 2+ years of experience in public accounting who are looking to take the next step in their career by joining our audit team. The candidate must be a team player with a strong work ethic and the ability to work efficiently and independently. Excellent oral and written communication as well as strong interpersonal skills required. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of audit experience in public accounting, be willing to learn, and possess a commitment to delivering exceptional client service as they strengthen their technical skills to advance within the firm. Responsibilities: Provide timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations Assist in the audit and review of financial statements for clients in a variety of industries Preparation of financial statements and related disclosures in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs, address concerns, and provide timely updates on engagement status Collaborate with the management team to identify and resolve issues encountered during client engagements Stay informed about industry trends, accounting standards and regulatory changes Mentor and coach junior staff members to foster their detail oriented development Assist in the development and implementation of firm policies and procedures to enhance service delivery and satisfaction Requirements Qualifications: In-depth understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), generally accepted accounting standards (GAAS) and other relevant accounting and auditing standards Outstanding communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills aligned with firm culture Strong attention to detail Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills Effective time management skills to consistently meet deadlines and adhere to budgets Ability to work independently and collaboratively Ability to handle sensitive and confidential business matters with discretion
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting (minimum) Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting CPA designation or progress towards obtaining CPA licensure preferred Experience working with non-profit organizations preferred but not required Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), accounting software and CCH Engagement
Other Key Requirements: Candidate must reside locally with the ability to work primarily in our Franklin, MA office at the time of onboarding After the initial training period (90 days), candidates have the ability to work remotely 2 days a week (if desired) Reliable transportation is required for client meetings and off-site fieldwork
