ThermoFisher Scientific Sr Supply Chain Specialist in Franklin, Massachusetts
This position is a member of the Supply Chain department at Thermo Fisher Scientific and is a key role in supporting the improvement of supply planning processes and development of capacity planning tools. The ideal candidate will possess the skills and ability to drive process improvement initiatives in supply planning processes and utilize our current and future technology platforms. The candidate should possess cross-functional skills to effectively collaborate with functional groups, such as Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, R&D, IT and Finance.
Review business processes within supply/materials/inventory planning to improve efficiency and benchmark with industry best practices. Drive customer centric process improvements.
Establish measurable criteria to ensure desired results are acquired and provide management with updates reflective of key performance indicators in line with set priorities and timing targets.
Promote the transformation of a reactive organizational culture to one that is more proactive, using data driven decision making and giving priority to preventative actions.
Lead and work with supply chain and business leadership making recommendations where appropriate and discussing potential risks and opportunities associated with changes to the supply operating or network model.
Will identify metrics, tools, and processes to optimize inventory, supporting inventory reduction analytics and execution of action plans.
Improve insight to past due backlog through process development and working with sites to develop action plans to address.
Lead and work with supply chain, operations, and functional groups to develop operationally and financially optimized capacity plans to deliver and improve customer service.
Collaborate with operations, engineering, and IT on data availability, cleansing and validation to support division wide insights and analytics.

Five or more years of responsibility related to supply planning, capacity planning, distribution planning and SIOP.
Ability to work efficiently within a team as a collaboration driver in a fast-paced changing environment!
Process and systems agility by understanding multiple processes across different systems and tools to produce accurate results and manage ambiguity by being comfortable with dynamic and ambiguous situations and able to present options for resolution.
Strong analytical skills and experience using data from a variety of sources to draw conclusions and insights and translate those insights into actions.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
Good problems solving skills and creativity, adaptable to new and changing situations.
Self-motivated with strong customer orientation
Effective verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Education and Background:
Bachelor's Degree required: Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or Business preferred.
APICS or related professional certification preferred.
Previous experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
Experience using ERP systems (SAP, InforXA, Intuitive), specifically in planning and inventory management.
Excellence in the ability to perform supply/inventory planning and capacity analysis.
Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Office suite
