GILL - Campus Reporter/Writer Northfield Mount Hermon (NMH) seeks a Campus Reporter/Writer to serve as the primary producer of campus and institutional news for the communications office. They will identify, report, write, create, and distribute news, human-interest stories, social media content, announcements, and marketing messaging about NMH\'s programs and people in ways that support its mission and strategic goals. They will assist in developing, editing, and proofing copy for a range of communications office initiatives, including social media, print publications, enewsletters, web content, and marketing materials. A Day in the Life: The Campus Reporter/Writer at Northfield Mount Hermon identifies newsworthy content as defined by the school\'s strategic goals, its brand platform, and the interests of its principal constituent groups. They develop positive relationships with staff, faculty, and students to identify, research, and craft engaging news and feature stories for digital, social, and print media. They meticulously edit and proofread communications materials to ensure consistency with NMH editorial style and maintain the institutional voice. They publish stories on the school?s website, assist in managing photographic needs, update external recruitment websites, and write and distribute press releases to local and regional media. Required Skills and Qualifications: A minimum of two years of writing and editorial experience, including proven experience writing news and feature stories and social media content Superior writing, grammar, copy editing, and proofing skills. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Experience working on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously while producing high-quality work Ability to manage website content, including posting and editing stories Strong sense of narrative storytelling Knowledge of AP style guide Ability to learn and use multiple technology platforms Ability to work both independently and as an integral member of the communications team. Basic understanding of media and public relations and its impact on advancing an institution?s reach and reputation Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor\'s degree (English, journalism, communications, marketing, or related field) Experience learning and applying organization-specific style guides Experience working in a comprehensive communications program Experience with G Suite, Finalsite, Asana, and Blackbaud K-12 Education Management software How to Apply: To be considered for this role candidates must provide a resume, a cover letter, and three writing samples.
