GILL - Carpenter Salary Range: \$24.00 To 25.75 Hourly Northfield Mount Hermon (NMH) seeks a Carpenter to work efficiently and cleanly to complete a variety of commercial and residential carpentry projects. They will assist with building maintenance, other trades, and additional tasks as needed by the school. A Day in the Life: The Carpenter plays a vital role within the facilities team, skillfully managing a variety of carpentry projects for both commercial and residential settings. Each day involves reviewing and efficiently executing carpentry tasks, ensuring the highest of quality. Additionally, the Carpenter addresses building maintenance issues and supports other trades as needed, demonstrating versatility and adaptability. This individual ensures that all work is completed and the workspace is prepared for the following day. Operating within established guidelines, this role contributes significantly to the overall maintenance and functionality of the school environment. Required Skills and Qualifications: Minimum 5 years experience building, renovating and planning projects. Residential and commercial building skills. Rough carpentry, finish carpentry, and roofing experience. Ability to read construction blueprints. Ability to use hand tools and power tools. Familiarity or willingness to learn shop machinery. Ability to move a minimum of 80 pounds, and perform repetitive movements. Ability to work at heights over 25 feet. High School Diploma or GED Preferred Qualifications: Understanding of the International Building Code is preferred. Ability to create plans using software tools. Understanding and /or the ability to use AutoCAD. This is an in-office position.
