GILL Grounds Supervisor Northfield Mount Hermon (NMH) seeks a Grounds Supervisor to be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, care, and aesthetic quality of the campus grounds. This includes athletic field preparation and maintenance, snow removal, landscaping, and ensuring the safety and accessibility of outdoor areas for students, employees, and visitors. The position also manages the school\'s vehicle fleet. A Day in the Life: The Grounds Supervisor at NMH oversees the maintenance and care of the campus grounds, supervising a team of groundskeepers to ensure all landscaping tasks, such as mowing, trimming, planting, and irrigation, are completed to the highest standard. This individual develops and manages maintenance schedules for lawns, gardens, and other landscaped areas, as well as supervising the repair and upkeep of hardscape features like walkways and driveways. The Supervisor also oversees snow and ice removal during winter months, managing the team and ensuring timely and safe operations. In addition, this individual supports athletic programs by maintaining fields, preparing them for games and events, and overseeing the operation of the hockey rink and pool. The Supervisor is responsible for managing budgets, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. They also supervise the groundskeeping team, providing training, scheduling, and performance evaluations, while addressing potential hazards and ensuring the safety of all personnel. Required Skills and Qualifications: Strong leadership and organizational abilities. Proficiency in operating and maintaining groundskeeping equipment (e.g., mowers, tractors, plows, sprayers). Knowledge of turf management, landscaping, and irrigation methods. Familiarity with snow removal best practices and equipment. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in groundskeeping or facilities management, including at least three (3) years in a supervisory role. Experience maintaining athletic fields. High school diploma or equivalent. Obtain and maintain a Massachusetts pesticide applicator license or certification. Obtain and maintain a MA DOT license. Obtain and maintain a Hoisters 2A and 1C license Basic proficiency with common workplace technology, such as email, video conferencing, and office software. Capability to move up to 75 lbs, operate machinery, and perform manual labor. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor\'s degree in horticulture, turf management, or a related field preferred.
